NEWSCAST - PROJECT

Historical Events (Live or Video) The news will be based on historical events. The events have to be in the assigned time period. Video recorded clips (USB, DVD, or other media devise) must be at least 5 minutes and not to exceed 10 minutes. It needs to summarize three to four (3-4) news events.

Suggestion Watch the nightly news a few times to get an idea of the format used in presenting the news. Remember that the news report (video or live presentation) should be informative and educational in nature. It should be related to the given time period.

Introduction – Each “Historical Event” should be addressed clearly in the introduction. The event should be in the assigned time period. (15 Points)

Body - Each historical event from the introduction should have at least two (2) supporting paragraphs in the body. The paragraphs should explain the cause and effects of the event(s) for clarity. (30 Points)

Conclusion Closing points of the event(s) should be summarized in the end to insure the key points were covered in the news report. (15 Points)

Visual Aids The report should have visuals to enhance the presentation: -Charts, Graphs -Pictures -Graphic Organizers (20 Points)

Overall presentation: -Three to four reports (3-4) - Organized (essay format) - Dressed Professionally - Loud and clear - Used the time wisely (5-10 Minutes) (15 Points)
