Chester A. Arthur High School Where learning Excels

Mission Statement Well rounded education, preparing students for the challenges of today’s competitive society. Core Curriculum taught with traditional values and methods. Small Campus promoting a large teacher to student ratio.

Preparing Students Higher standards emphasizing practicality through real world applications. Examples: Testing which measures students ability to apply knowledge. Study based projects that explore concept links of subject material.

Core Curriculum Time tested knowledge in the areas such as mathematics, sciences, history, foreign languages and literature. Discouraging distractive programs that decrease the potential of the learning environment.

Teachers Classrooms centered around the teachers. Teaching staff provides foundation of intellectual and moral values. Teaching in depth subjects instead of fractured lesson planning. A large staff to allow one on one student/teacher interaction.

Essentialism Transmitting society by keeping with the traditional core curriculums and higher standards. Educational Leaders: William Bagley, E.D. Hirsch, Jr., and William Bennett.
