Being Human Year 5 Summer 1 Physical Education Following P.E scheme of work To play competitive games and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending Science – Humans and Animals Pupils should be able to : - Describe the changes as humans develop to old age. Describe the differences in the life cycle of a mammal, an amphibian, an insect and a bird. Describe the life process of reproduction in some plants and animals. History – Crime and Punishment in Manchester Pupils should be taught: - A study of an aspect of history or a site dating from a period beyond 1066 that is significant in the locality. Other Information An in-depth study into Manchester, focussing on the aspect of crime and punishment. Art – Self Portraiture Pupils are to develop their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design.
