TESTING RULES & STRATEGIES IF PULSE IS VERY FAST SAY “I THINK AN RN IS NEEDED TO TAKE THIS PULSE” ASK EVALUATOR IF YOU CAN DESIGNATE A START AND STOP TIME ON THE CLOCK. YOU MUST STILL SAY “START” AND “STOP” AT THE DESIGNATED TIME USE FOUR-FOLD WASH CLOTH. YOU MUST RINSE & DRY. NEED PAD/TOWEL UNDER THE BUTT MALE PERI CARE IS NOT TESTED

ROM BEDPAN PPE Support extremity Don’t rush or over-expose Know your moves ROM Lift butt rather than role to side Only tested on regular bedpan HOB^ after placement-no need to raise bed for body mechanics Wash yours and patients hands Dump urine and rinse only in toilet BEDPAN Practice skill as you may not have done it in clinical Gown and glove only PPE
