Verb:- They are doing some work of Girl is Dancing Man is Walking 1. Dancing and 2. Walking

Verb (Definition ):- For Example The words showing some action or work are known as VERB. For Example Sleeping To Drink Running Laughing

Verb (How to find?):- “What work is done?” VERB To find Verb in a sentence we can ask this question:- “What work is done?” And the answer will be VERB

Verb (How to find - Examples):- 1. Students are reading Q:- What work is done? A:- Reading So, here the word Reading is Verb 2. The train is moving Q:- What work is done? A:- Moving So, here the word Moving is Verb

Verb (Kinds):-

Finite Verb:- Subject Main Verb Object I eat an apple. She eats We Look at the Following Sentences:- Here Main Verbs are changing with the change in the person and number of subject. Subject Main Verb Object I eat an apple. She eats We Shyam an apple SO The verbs that change according to the change in Number and person of the subject are known as Finite Verbs.

Non – Finite Verb:- Subject Helping Verb Main Verb I Am Eating We Are Look at the Following Sentences:- Here Main Verbs are not changing with the change in the person and number of subject. Subject Helping Verb Main Verb I Am Eating We Are She Is Shyam is SO The verbs that do not change according to the change in Number and person of the subject are known as Non - Finite Verbs.

Transitive Verb:- Look at the Following :- Man is revolving the Globe. Boxer is hitting the Boxing Pad. In both the situations Subject is passing on some action to the object. Or Some change is brought in the shape, size and position of the object by the subject.

Transitive Verb (Definition):- SO If some action is passed on to the object by the subject and hence some change is brought in the shape, size or position of the object then the verb is called Transitive Verb. For example She eats an apple. He writes a letter. They are flying kites. Mother is pulling the pram.

Intransitive Verb:- Look at the Following :- Airplane is flying in the sky. Two men are fighting. In both the situations Subject is not passing any action to the object. Or No change is brought in the shape, size and position of the object by the subject.

Intransitive Verb (Definition):- SO If no action is passed on to the object by the subject and hence no change is brought in the shape, size or position of the object then the verb is called Intransitive Verb. For example Bird is flying in the sky. Boy is crying. I am standing on the road. They are playing in ground.

Gerund (Definition):- The “Verb + ing” form of the verb that acts as the Noun is known as Gerund. For Example Sleeping is good for health. Practicing is the only way of leaning the things. Running in the busy road is not good. Laughing makes you healthy.

Participle (Definition):- The “V + ing” form of the verb that acts as an Adjective is known as Participle. For Example A dancing girl fell on the stage. My wife is working Lady. A running horse is there. He is a sleeping boy.

Infinitive (Definition):- The “to + Verb” form of the verb is known as Infinitive. For Example I am going to play. To work hard is the only way of success. We will to take breakfast. Animal is going to climb on the tree.

Auxiliary Verb:- They are also known as Helping Verb because they help in forming the Tenses.

Primary Auxiliary:- Following are the different forms of Primary Auxiliary

Primary Auxiliary:- Be Have Do Present Past Singular Is, Am Was On the basis of Tense and Number Primary Auxiliary Verb can be divided in the following manner:- Be Have Do Present Past Singular Is, Am Was Has, Have Had Do, Does Did Plural Are were

Modal (Definition) :- Modals are the Auxiliary Verb that show the manner and mode of an action done by the subject.

Modal (Important Note) :- Modals are defective verbs because They do not change like other verbs with the change of number or Person. : - SN Sentences with Modals Sentences with other Verbs 1 I can play with football. Exercise:- Find the verbs in following sentences and give their type also: - What are you doing with him in ground? I may pass with very good marks because I study hard. I am coming to your house to take dinner. They played all the day with me. Coming first in race is not a great task if you run faster. I can jump from this height if you ask me to do. Teacher was teaching in the class. They have already completed the homework. I will go to market today if I get the permission from my principal. She has cooked the food for the family and family is ready for lunch.
