Ideology worksheet 1. Define the ideology and then create a symbol reflecting that ideology. Groups will share a definition and their symbol using the document camera. (write neatly)

Traits of Totalitarianism In your groups match the trait with the correct definition. Each group will provide one answer.

Stalin - Now show what you know! Fill in the chart using your Stalin outline determine how the trait is used by Stalin to control the Soviet Union. Make sure you give a specific example. Refer to example provided.

Ticket out the door Complete an exit ticket by taking a post it note placing it on easel next to the totalitarian trait that Stalin used the most effectively. Explain why you believe this trait allowed Stalin to either gain or maintain his power in the Soviet Union.
