In 2011 alone, Gartner’s expected factory unit production forecast is just over 485 million smartphones worldwide. The tablet device form-factor is newer to market than the more established smartphones, but Gartner expects 71.6 million of them to be produced in 2011. Growth for both device types is forecasted out through 2015. As these devices have picked up more computer-like capabilities – corporate email, calendar, access to web applications, for example – they have become more integrated into the way we, and our customers, work. Printing is no different. Expected Factory Unit Production, Gartner Forecast Analysis: Mobile Phones and Consumer Electronics, Worldwide, 2Q11 Update November, 2011 Xerox Internal Use Only
Today printing is immature and confusing Mobile OS Infrastructure Mobile OS Applications Apple AirPrint Hardware Manufacturers Google Cloud Print Software Manufacturers Printing for these devices is still in the early stages. Its confusing and difficult for customers, who have to know whether their printer supports AirPrint or Google Cloud Print, or choose among a variety of applications either from the printer hardware vendors or ISVs. And the alternatives available today may not do what the customer wants – in some cases, common formats like Microsoft Office documents aren’t supported, or the output quality of the document can be impacted, or network issues can keep the solution from working properly. We get the question from customers – does Xerox have a solution for printing from mobile devices? Until today, the answer depended on which of our products the customer had. Now, Xerox has a solution that covers all of our desktop products. No Xerox solution for desktop printers & MFPs November, 2011 Xerox Internal Use Only

Save a Copy with PrintBack “Downloads” folder One scenario of note – for people who take photos in the field with their iPhone, for instance, would have to sync their device when they return to their office or email themselves the photos they take on their iPhone. If they use Photo Shoot mode in PrintBack, and select the save to Download folder option, and set it to Save Only – photos they take will automatically upload from their device for saving to their computer. Xerox Internal Use Only PrintBack Customers Individuals Environments where users can deploy solutions Networks where online storage/email traffic is allowed Android/iOS device users So who is PrintBack the best fit for? Primarily, individuals. In small and home office scenarios, PrintBack will be a great fit as it is normal in these environments for individuals to install their own software and solutions, and it is less likely that firewalls will interfere with web traffic to Dropbox or online email providers. In larger, more IT-centric managed network environments, these particulars of the design of the PrintBack solution may simply not work. It is obviously also limited to Android and iOS device users.
