MindMaps and ECG-1 MindMaps What are ? Homework assignments for Units 1 to 6

What are MindMaps(MM)? MindMaps are visual diagrams of what is in your mind.

MINDMAP QUESTIONS 1. Why do we use the MM in conversation class? The MM helps you to organize your thoughts. The MM provides you with a visual aid to help you tell your stories to other students. The MM is a tool that helps you to generate ideas. 2. Do I need to do the MM in color? Yes. Using color opens your mind. 3. Do I need to write sentences or key words for each topic on the MM? Only use key words and very short phrases. See photo above. The MM is a guide for you. Don’t write out complete sentences. 4. Why use curved lines and not straight lines? The MM is a tool to get you to think freely. Straight lines tend to put your mind in a box. 5. How do I make a good MM? Step 1. Put the topic in the center of the page and let yourself FREELy come up with ideas. Step 2. Look at your step one MM and then see how you can organize your data and do the MM again. (This is draft 2) Step 3: You can repeat the process as many times as you want. Step 4: Practice telling your stories for each story. Each MM will have many stories-some are short, some are long.
