Prokaryotic vs. Eukaryotic Decode the Vocabulary Prokaryotic vs. Eukaryotic “Karyose” is a Greek word meaning kernel, or seed, like the pit of a peach. The “kernel” of the cell is the nucleus. “Pro” means before “Eu” means true Prokaryotic = before nucleus Eukaryotic= true nucleus

Every cell has tiny little “organs” or organelles that allow them to work. You must memorize the structure and function of these organelles. You also need to know what kinds of cells they are present in: Prokaryotic v Eukaryotic Plant v Animal
