How can I make my writing interesting? To know what is a run-on and complete sentence. To understand the components of a complete sentence and when there is a run-on sentence. To be able to begin writing a variety of sentences in order to create an effect on the audience/reader. Dependent Clause; Independence Clause; Simple; Compound; Complex; Conjunctions; Comma; Active and Passive Voice

In your groups, you will re-write this paragraph so that there are no run-on sentences. You can use simple, compound and complex sentences. Don’t forget your transitional words. Well, to start with my hair looked terrible and then the science teacher called on me to give my oral report and I was counting on having another day at least to get ready for it and when I got to English class I realized I had left my purse in science class and I didn’t have time to go back and get it and to top it off Mrs. Edmunds gave us a surprise quiz on our reading assignments.
