Community of Learners Inquiry Question and Process How can we develop an environment in our class community where we feel: healthy, safe, and supported to engage in learning? Brown 2013

4C’s :Code of Conduct Cooperation Communication Commitment Looks Like: working respectfully together, no one left out Sounds Like: relaxed conversation working with peers Feels Like: included and respected Communication Looks Like: sharing points of view to get work done Sounds Like: respectful speaking and listening Feels Like: being heard and valued. Proud, confident Commitment Looks Like: on task, driven towards a goal to get work done Sounds Like: focused, purposeful conversations related to completing a task Feels Like: motivated, focused, interactive Control (Self) Looks Like: calm, relaxed, productive, work ethic Sounds Like: quiet talk about work. Sharing thoughts and ideas without judgement Feels Like: valued, accepted The Community of Learner’s poster becomes a visual to reflect back on and redirect students back to their core values.
