Types of Graphic Organizers and a brief description of how they are used

What is a Graphic Organizer? A graphic organizer, also known as a knowledge map, concept map, story map, cognitive organizer, advance organizer, or concept diagram, is a communication tool that uses visual symbols to express knowledge, concepts, thoughts, or ideas, and the relationships between them. Simply put, a Graphic Organizer is something that you create to list all of your ideas on a piece of paper. There is no wrong way to make a Graphic Organizer

How Does a Graphic Organizer Help Me? A graphic organizer guides the learner's thinking as they fill in and build upon a visual map or diagram. They are also informally used as a term to describe all visual learning strategies such as concept mapping, webbing, mind mapping, and more. Simply put, a Graphic Organizer helps you place ideas quickly on a piece of paper They should be bulleted ideas or fragmented sentences They help you categorize your information It is used to jar your memory on specific topics taught and remind you of the “story” that you need to retell This will help you write a more organized and detail oriented essay

How Long Does It Have To Be? As long as it takes to answer the question FULLY!! You must include a ton of detail, background information, and lots of examples.
