CinMIC’sOperating Procedures:

CinMIC’sOperating Procedures Item 6: 6. Partners: Other Duties – A. Tracking: Tracking is defined as following one or more particular stocks purchased or selected by the partnership to watch its value and give an opinion as to its desirability at meetings. B. Recommending: Recommending is defined as give a positive or negative opinion about a stock after investigating it and to report at the next meeting. C. Note: All partners must actively participate in on going activities by learning BI procedures, by preparing analyses, and by undertaking other assignments in order to further the investment endeavors of the partnership, and by making regular financial contributions to the partnership.

NOTE - Each partner follows a stock unless: Club has exempted two key partners due to their exceptional roles and work in our organization: Betsy our Treasurer And Marty our webmaster and record keeper 5

Previous examples and forms: Various forms are filed on the club’s BIVIO FILES location, they may suggest a template for you to follow

Responsible for club’s information on a holding: Report is on a piece of total portfolio All reports are important All reports are timely Important to active investors EDUCATION (yours!): Learn from each company you cover Learn from others 7

REPORTS NEED TO BE PUBLISHED IN A TIMELY MANNER! Very, very Important: Because all reports need to be studied, esp. if stock watcher recommends a “BUY” or a “SELL”: REPORTS NEED TO BE PUBLISHED IN A TIMELY MANNER! Give partners a chance to read, research and think about the recommendation. 8

Tips; Do the report in an application like WORD so you can save it to a folder for reference the following month. Rebuild each report on your existing data base. Just update the data for so you know “the trend”. If you do a quick report in an email, you haven’t educated yourself or learned more on your company. Promise yourself to do more next month and do a great study with the next quarterly earnings report. Capture your screen images with “snipping tool” and paste in your report for visual interest: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13776/windows-use-snipping- tool-to-capture-screenshots 9

Stock Report is three parts: THE REPORT: report of current news and data in document form, this is where some do a brief email with a cursory sentence with a “recommendation” SSG: Updated SSG (with minimum of a price update) The SSG is the CORE of our BI education and the most important part. VALUE LINE: a PDF of current Value Line 10

A STANDARD REPORT - Start with: Name of company/ticker Name of Watcher Date of Report / day - month – year Current price, 52 week range and P/E Last earnings report date 11

Next, history of the stock in the club: All data is in BIVIO: 6. Using the “Valuation (NAV)” Report: Number of current shares held, cost basis (per share and total), market prices, unrealized gain or loss, and percent of total portfolio. EXTRA INFORMATION: By using the “Investment Lot Cost Basis” report you can educate yourself to how different lot purchases affect gains and losses. 12

For us visual folks….add a chart! 13

Additional: 7. Description on the company and what they do, along with SECTOR and INDUSTRY. This can be at beginning or end of report in small type. 8. News: current corporate press releases or published information pertaining to governance of your company. (BEWARE OF NOISE) If you use a summary, you may want to add a hyperlink to original, full webpage. 14

Reports from other resources: 9. Our club tends to follow Value Line (VL) as a resource. A good practice is to attached a current VL PDF along with your report. 10. However, we now also look to Morningstar more since their data feed is the one Better Investing uses for the SSG. Data is GAAP. (Value Line’s data is “normalized”.) A summary of Morningstar information is a great addition and respected. 15

One more resource: 11. One last resource our club relies on is MANIFEST INVESTING. We find Mark Robertson’s “MI” to be one of the better ways to maintain our portfolio. CinMIC constantly uses his tool to give us insight into the current status of a company. EXTRA: use you clipping tool and you can include an “EAGLE” of the company. (Educate yourself in how to read these charts.) 16

Manifest Investing “EAGLE” 17

Summary and RECOMMENATION: 12. The end of your report should summarize your findings from your resources and the SSG along with your RECOMENATION from your report. BUY – HOLD – SELL 18

QUARTERY EARNINGS: When your company announces their quarterly earnings, you will need to spend more time on your report. You will need to summarize from their PR release and add to your report You may have to add data to your SSG if it isn’t available in the data feed Company may also give forward guidance, very important to add to your report 19

Distribute Your Report: Convert all documents to PDF format. (Use free application like “CUTE PDF” as your “printer” to create a virus-free document for safe distribution.) Learn to use BIVIO (or I-CLUB) for club related communications so files go to your roster of members; this allow members to review posted reports at your club site Remember your attachments When you reply or make a comment to a BIVIO (or I-CLUB) email, don’t forget, it goes to ALL MEMBERS on the Roster. 20
