Presentation transcript:

Good Morning, 810 Please have your homework on your desk for Ms. Teschow to see Today we will examine different types of graphs to consider purpose and defining features

In Your Groups… Have people who completed the “Vocab” option for homework share what they learned Write down any ideas or questions you have as your peers are sharing Next, have those who found different types of graphs share their work. Discuss each graph shared, and how it is similar to or different from other types of graphs you have seen.

In Your Groups, Create an ANCHOR CHART Choose ONE type of graph. Find as many examples as you can. Use Skitch, Piccollage or a Chart Paper and Markers to tell about this type of graph: Purpose (when/why is it used?) Parts of the graph (show/tell about title, axes, data, key or legend, etc.) What are the defining features of this particular type of graph? What makes this type of graph different from other types of graphs? Please be sure to include some visual examples of your type of graph Person C, please come and get a chart paper and markers for your group.

Choose ONE of your graphs… How might this data be interpreted differently if it were shown in a different format?
