By-Products: By-products are salvageable material produced or derived from the manufacturing procedure. Chicken water

Buy-Backs Unused poultry parts not incorporated into end products Chicken wings Drumsticks Tails Skin Necks

Buy-backs are purchased by processor who credits value to the State Agency or Recipient Agency

Credit may not be given for primal parts such as breast and thigh meat.

Credit or buy back arrangements must be established prior to processing, documented as part of SPA, and made available to grader.

Price paid based on Urner Barry or USDA price reports and shall be market price for product at time of processing.

Buy back parts are not considered as part of the GMR.

Buy-backs, by-products, and rework must be listed on PY-209 Grading Certificate if processor sells these parts or uses them in commercial product manufacturing
