Highlands Kenya You Can Help! Highlands Kenya

Who Are They? It is one of the most well known tribes in Kenya. We will be helping the children in Eluaai. They still show traditional Kenyan culture while other places are developing. There still farmers and herd cows, goats, and sheep. The men look for pastures while the women raise the children.

Ed Colina Foundation The ed Colina Foundation is committed to improving the lives of impoverished women and children in sub-Saharan Africa. They can provide education opportunities to who wants it. Some schools they have built are St. Timothy, Bisel Masai, and Jitahidi school.

Education It is there best chance for a better job and life. They are in desperate need of one in Eluaai, the closest school is 8km away. For the girls it is harder because they need to do a number of chores before leaving. Also they don’t get many supplies or uniforms because the boys are top priority. Only a few reach 8th grade and even feweer get to high school.

Food There regular diet consists of things like undercooked meat (that the men usually eat) and milk. Also untreated water just from a hole in the ground. If they get a school they will be fed one whole meal a day instead of starving at home. If they go to school they will get clean water and a meal every day.
