What should you ask the staff & student workers? It’s always a good idea to have some specific questions to ask. Some examples include: I am having trouble reading my textbook. Is there a better way for me to understand the text? How can I find the main idea and supporting details in this paragraph? I’ve read the chapter, but how do I make a formal outline? take Cornell notes? create a text annotation? Can you help me find my DARS report? an assignment on D2L? How can I study this topic more effectively? How can I do better on the next test?

Staff & Student Workers Will… Support all students in reading their college texts. Ask you questions about the reading & your understanding of it. Guide students in applying College Success Strategies. Provide workshops as well as one on one sessions for students to gain or improve specific college success strategies. Aide students in choosing contemporary fiction & non-fiction from our collection. Troubleshoot computer and printing issues. Help with computer questions related to word processing. Promote OnCourse/College Success Strategies choices of students. Encourage personal responsibility, self management and lifelong learning.
