The University of Alabama campus… Outside of Doster Hall June of 2013 Brief visit during our exhaustive 21-hour non-stop move from Houston Texas, back to Chicago, Illinois. Loved everything I was able to see!

CAREER GOALS Complete Bachelor’s on May 2015 If matched with an internship, start as soon as possible. If I wasn’t matched with an internship, then: Take Dietetic Technician Exam Temporarily work part-time in a hospital, food service, or community nutrition place, for example as a dietary aide, cafeteria worker, or WIC staff. Start internship when matched. Take exam to be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. CAREER GOALS

Becoming and RDN and beyond… In my early career as an RDN, I would like to begin work in the clinical setting, since I have always wanted to work at a hospital. I would like to explore the fields of oncology nutrition, as well as allergy and food sensitivities. However, I would also like to give school nutrition a try, and see if the work schedule suits my family. I would even like to try working for a WIC office, because I have an interest in maternal-child nutrition as well.

Eventually… I am definitely interested in earning a graduate degree. A few years from now My options may be: I am definitely interested in earning a graduate degree. After working in the different fields of dietetics practice, I will find out which area to pursue further. MS in Clinical Nutrition MA in Health Studies MPH with Nutrition Emphasis Doctoral studies in a nutrition-dietetics field.

In the long run… My main goal is: 10 years from now, teach nutrition related courses at the college level. Later on: I would like to write a book, write a blog, a column, give interviews, give lectures, or any other way I can brand my nutrition knowledge.

10 Achievements or life experiences for which I am most proud of. In order of appearance: Stopped smoking. Stopped heavy drinking. Stopped hanging with the wrong crowd. Started attending church services. Surrendered my life to Christ. Got married; we both waited for each other. Started having children, three precious little ones, their ages now are 7, 4 and 2. Started college. Obtained Associate’s degree, With a 3.84 GPA. Lastly… Being on my way to a Bachelor’s, keeping a good GPA, all while being a full-time mom to three crazy-little-precious ones! 10 Achievements or life experiences for which I am most proud of.

Finally… What I would like to learn or gain from this course are tools that will enable me to organize my career path, and to learn about the interconnection and relevance of all Human Environmental Science majors to the individual, the consumer, and the community.
