Introduction

The 7 Habits Of Highly effective People Be Proactive Begin with the end in mind Put first things first Think Win – Win Seek first to understand , then to be understood Synergize Sharpen the Saw

How ?! Habit # 1: Be Proactive You can either be proactive or reactive when it comes to how you respond to things. How ?! Task 1

Proactive People Reactive People Carry their own weather with them Often affected by their physical environment Value driven They become defensive or protective. Ability to subordinate an impulse to a value. Build their emotional lives around the behavior of others. Driven by values. Carefully thought about, selected and internalized values. Driven by feelings, by circumstances, by conditions, by their environment. Influenced by external stimuli, whether physical, social, or psychological. Affected by their social environment, by the “ social weather”

Habit # 1: Be Proactive You can either be proactive or reactive when it comes to how you respond to things. When you are reactive, you blame other people and circumstances for obstacles or problems. Being proactive means taking responsibility for every aspect of your life. Between stimulus and response, we have the power of free will to choose our response. So it’s your choice.

The Power Of Choice

Habit # 2: Begin with the end in Mind Every thing is created twice , first creation is mentally ( What you plan) Second is physically ( Plan in action). Set long-term goals. Document your own vision in life. Create a weekly plan including priorities. Assess your successes and failures. Analyze areas that represent failures.

Habit # 3: First things First A framework for prioritizing work that is aimed at short-term goals. Some tasks that appear not to be urgent , are in fact very important. Delegation is an important part of time management. Don't Prioritize Your Schedule , Schedule Your Priorities.

Habit # 3: First things First “ The Key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”

Task # 2 : Time Management Matrix Not Important Important Urgent Not Urgent I II ( Focus ) Prevention, PC activities Relationship building Recognizing new opportunities Planning, recreation. Quadrant of Quality. ( Manage ) Crises Pressing Problems Deadline Driven Projects Quadrant of necessity III IV ( Avoid ) Interruptions, some calls Some mail, some reports Some meetings Proximate, pressing matters Popular activities. Quadrant of deception. ( Limit ) Trivia ( silly things ), busy work , Some mail Some phone calls Time wasters Pleasant activities. Quadrant of waste.

Habit # 4 : Think Win-Win ( Mutual Benefit ) An attitude whereby mutually beneficial solutions are sought that satisfy the needs of all parties involved. There is enough success for everyone.

Habit # 5 : Seek First to understand, Then to be understood This habit is the most important principle of interpersonal relations. Effective listening is not simply echoing what the other person has said through the lens of one's own experience. Sometimes you have to listen with your eyes as much as you listen with your ears. ( body language and facial expressions ).

What do You see ?

It shows that two people can see the same thing and yet differ with each other.

Habit # 6 : Synergize Together We are Better Find ways of working in teams. Apply effective problem solving. Apply collaborative decision making. Value differences. Build on divergent strengths. Leverage creative collaboration. Embrace and leverage innovation.

Habit # 7 : Sharpen the Saw Finally, the seventh habit is one of renewal and continual improvement , that is, of building one's personal capability. To be effective, one must find the proper balance between actually doing and improving one's capability to do that which you value. Maintain a balance among these dimensions : (physical, mental, social/emotional, and spiritual )

6 Cancers that inhibit Greatness Cynicism Criticism Comparing Competing Complaining Contending

Conclusion The 7 habits of highly effective people is a holistic, integrated, principle centered approach for solving our personal and professional problems. Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs.
