Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Course (hands on fresh frozen cadavers) University of Glasgow, Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre, Laboratory of Human Anatomy, Glasgow 1st – 2nd November 2018 A two-day advanced laparoscopic surgery course and workshop (including simulators and non-embalmed full fresh cadavers) aimed at Consultants Gynaecologists and Senior Trainees who have acquired basic laparoscopic skills (ST6 and ST7, ATSM in Laparoscopic Surgery, and Sub-specialty Trainees). Number strictly limited to 8 candidates. Course Directors Dr Mohamed Allam – Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer – University of Glasgow, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – NHS Lanarkshire University Hospitals Dr Mohamed Mehasseb – Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon & Oncologist The course is ran under the auspices of the Scottish Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

Fees and Registration: The registration fees for the the course are £1400. These include admission to the lectures, course pack and material, coffee, and lunch on both days. The course dinner on Thursday 1st of November is provided free of charge, courtesy of our Sponsors. Venue: Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre, The Anatomy Department, School of Life Sciences, Thomson Building, University of Glasgow, University Avenue, Glasgow, G12 8QQ How to get here: Air Glasgow International Airport is located 7 miles west of the University. Bus services to the West End of Glasgow stop minutes from the University. Taxi fare to the West End costs approximately £20. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is located 22 miles south west of the University. It has its own rail station and bus service to the city centre. Edinburgh International Airport is located 42 miles east of the University. It is 48-minute train ride to Glasgow (departs every 15 minutes during peak hours) By coach Buchanan Bus Station is the main terminus for long distance coaches and airport bus shuttles By train Intercity links to all major cities. Frequent services to Edinburgh (50 minutes) and London (5 hours). There are two city-centre terminals, Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central. Road Motorway links provide access to major UK cities. From Carlisle, Newcastle and the South, exit M74 on to the M73, joining the M8 at the Old Monkland junction. M8 exits for the University are J18 if travelling from the south, Edinburgh and the north and J19 if coming from Glasgow Airport and the west. Other main routes serving the University include Great Western Road (A82, north of campus), Clydeside Expressway (A814, south) and Byres Road (B808, west). Car parking on the University campus and surrounding area is extremely difficult.

Programme Advanced Laparoscopy Course (hands on fresh frozen cadavers)   1st – 2nd November 2018 To be held at The University of Glasgow, Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre, Department of Anatomy, Glasgow, G12 8QQ This course has been designed for Consultants Gynaecologist and Senior Trainees who would like to sharpen their knowledge & skills in gynaecological laparoscopic surgery. An experienced faculty will present a range of skills, tips and techniques. Delegates will be mentored and guided through the hands-on sessions by experienced faculty clinicians and allowed to perform full surgical procedures. Candidates will have the opportunity to trial the newest laparoscopic equipment in state-of-art facilities. Teaching methods: 1. Interactive lectures on anatomy and surgical procedures 2.
