Cristopher Columbus The obstacles he faced were no maps and a frightened crew. His purpose was to sail west to reach Asia. One of his achievements was ; He was the first European explorer to reach the new world in 1492. He represented the country of Spain.

Fun facts about Cristopher Columbus Sailors on Cristopher Columbus’ ships slept on the open deck at night. They tied themselves down to keep from being thrown into the sea as the ship rolled into the waves!!! Cristopher Columbus married the governors daughter. He was also known as Cristoforo Colombo.

Henry Hudson Henry Hudson represented Holland. The obstacles he faced were crew mutinied in cold. His purpose was; he was trying to find a northern passage to Asia. One of his achievements was ; He explored the Hudson river.

Jacques Cartier Jacques Cartier represented France. The obstacles he faced were his crew got diseases. His purpose was to find gold and to find a water route to Asia. One of his achievements was he discovered the St. Lawrence river.

Fun facts about Jacques Cartier He named the aria “Kanata,” the Iroquois word for “village.” He tried to create a settlement, but It didn't last the winter.
