All Wales Safeguarding Procedures Review Project Front Line Briefing February 2018

We need you to get involved…. Your Safeguarding Procedures are changing…. Why? In order to present a commonality and equity of approach and entitlement for all people that also allows for age specific safeguarding imperatives and needs of each to be appropriately recognised and met. All Wales Procedures for Safeguarding Children and Adults The new procedures belong to everyone, so it is really important that you are all involved in their development. You can get involved by enrolling onto the All Wales Academy to view all of the project information and also provide feedback on the new procedures as they are developed. Click on the link here to access the All Wales Academy And here to access instructions All Wales Academy Access instructions   How? Engagement and consultation with all statutory partners and all stakeholder groups to ensure the changes made to the procedures are made on an informed basis and take into account existing good practice and the most prevalent challenges. Feedback has been sought specifically on the following: The principles The procedures The challenges What works well

What next….? Digital Procedures Procedure development The new procedures need to be relevant and accessible to all and as such, it is the ambition of the project to provide them in a digital format. This will allow all practitioners to access the procedures easily without the need to wade through lengthy documents. Digitisation also makes it easier to provide additional research, good practice examples and support/guidance. Digitisation also facilitates more straight forward maintenance and review of the procedures Procedure development Your Regional Safeguarding Board is engaged in the development of the procedures. The newly drafted procedures will be submitted to the All Wales Academy site for everyone to provide feedback. These drafts will be presented to the Safeguarding Boards at intervals from April 2018 and will each have a set period in which to provide your feedback. Regions are encouraged to discuss the changes at team meetings and communicate the changes out to front line staff
