Introduction Are you a big fan of sports? Then you might have heard about Asian Games. Asian Games is one of sport events which happens every 4 years. Only Asian athletes can participate in these games. When I watched Incheon Asian Games, I was awed because it was almost same as olympics!

History of Asian Games Asian Games were created at the London Olympic in 1948. There, six countries (Korea, the Philippines, Myanmar, India, Taiwan and Sri Lanka) decided to host Asian Games. So, they created Asian Games Federation. The first Asian Games were hosted in New Delhi, India. South Korea couldn't participate in first Asian Games because of Korean War. At first, 11 nations and 489 athletes participated.

Now Days In 2014, 17th Asian games, Incheon Asian Games got held. 45 nations and 9501 athletes participated. Compared to the first Asian Games, the number of athletes and nations increased a lot. Today, almost all Asian countries are participating, even North Korea.

Interesting Facts about Asian Games In Asian Games, China got the most medals because they had many athletes participating. They got 2898 medals total. Japan got 2851 medals. South Korea got 2058 medals, getting the third place. Kazakstan got 481 medals. There are 90 sports in Asian Games, including Asian Winter Games, Asian Indoor Games, Asian Martial Arts Games, Asian Beach Games, and Asian Youth Games.

Conclusion Asian games are one of the famous sports. Many nations and athletes are participating in this event. Athletes in Asia I love this event and I’ll watch the next Asian games.
