Lesson One: Prepositions Prepositions show a relationship between a noun or pronoun and some other word in the sentence.
Prepositional Phrases Prepositional phrases contain a preposition, the object of the preposition, and any modifiers of the object. The object of the preposition is the noun or pronoun that follows the preposition. If a word that looks like a preposition is not followed by an object, it is actually an adverb, not a preposition.

Lesson Two: Adjective & Adverb Phrases Adjective phrases are prepositional phrases that modify a noun or pronoun. They tell which one, how many, or what kind. The phrase will immediately follow a noun or pronoun. Adverb phrases are prepositional phrases that modify a verb, an adjective, another verb. They tell where, when, how, why, or to what extent. The phrase will immediately follow a verb, an adjective, or another verb.

Lesson Three: Conjunctions Conjunctions are words used to join words or groups of words. Coordinating conjunctions: and, but, or, nor, & yet. Correlative conjunctions: both…and, either…or, neither…nor, not only…but also, & whether…or.
Lesson Four: Interjections Interjections are words or short phrases used to express emotion. Wow! Oh my goodness! Hey! Fantastic! Awesome!
