Civil War and Reconstruction Day 1 You will need to bring a ½ sheet white poster board The Big Idea The United States began to tear apart over the issue of slavery and states’ rights. Finally, something had to give. The Civil War erupted in South Carolina, and lasted from 1861-1865. In the end, North and South reunited, the country was reconstructed, but Abraham Lincoln, perhaps our greatest president, was dead. Warm – Up Sequencing Review Crossword Review Objective: TLW identify and place significant individuals, time periods and events from the beginning of U.S. history through Westward Expansion in chronological order. Activity: Have students write their warm up in their journal, discuss. Then have them work on their sequencing and crossword reviews. They may use their textbook if needed.
