Earth’s Layers Earth is divided into three layers. the outer layer is called the crust. Beneath the crust lies the mantle. The core is the innermost layer The core is made of metal.

Landforms The solid features formed on Earth’s crust. Other features include bodies of water Many landforms are shaped by water

Coast Lake Plateau Plain Glacier Ocean Hill Volcano Valley River Mountain Valley River

True or False Earth is divided into four layers. True False

True or False the outer layer is the crust True False

True or False The mantle is the innermost layer True False

True or False Most landforms are formed by volcanoes True False

Weathering Any action that breaks rocks into pieces Changes can be very slow Weathering goes on all the time plants and water can cause weathering

The movement of weathered material Erosion The movement of weathered material

Wind, gravity, and glaciers can cause erosion.

Water causes erosion in many places.

Gravity pulls rocks and soil downhill and causes erosion
