Project Goals Support the ability to submit good data to the current state CSI and DCR mental health data systems Close the feedback loop for counties to validate that they have good data in the CSI and DCR state mental health data systems Improve the value of state CSI and DCR mental health data systems for counties, the state and stakeholders
Approach Over 1.5 years: Provided counties with 2 reports which provide an overview of current data and errors for CSI and DCR Met with counties to review reports and identify potential causes of data patterns and inconsistencies Work with counties and DHCS to improve processes to submit data to DCR and CSI Provide counties with 2 reports which provide an overview of improved data for CSI and DCR
Switching EHRs Occasionally, counties switch EHRs Rumors have it that Cerner Anasazi product will be sunsetting Currently, approximately 26 counties have this EHR, who will likely need to switch EHRs soon

EHR Transition Process Notify DHCS 90 calendar days prior to any change in reporting system and/or change of automated system vendor Contact MHSData@dhcs.ca.gov If the transition will cause a delay in required monthly submissions Delineate clear timelines for each step of the process for the switch The timelines must include information and comments regarding the anticipated requirements and impacts of the projected changes. Indicate date that submissions will resume Submit EHR switch timelines to DHCS for approval DHCS and County must discuss the design, development, and costs of the anticipated changes prior to implementation. Provide monthly updates on progress to the DHCS, Mental Health Analytics Section until the target timeline has been met and the submission of data is back in compliance with federal and State mandates set forth in the MHP contract.
MHSA Services Not Reportable to CSI Pre-mental health screenings (PEAK) Homeless outreach Non-billable services Services provided in lock out settings do not report because there is no mode for these so we cannot send Services dealing with MHSA service types such as legal, medical, financial and so forth MHSA Job-related services MHSA Housing-related services One-shots/single-services.
