PRESENTATION 2006 SAFETY CALENDAR

THE IDEA Involve all employees and their families in a safety-related activity Provide prizes to generate interest. All prizes should be safety related. All employees and their families are eligible. Be able to visualize the activity and maintain longevity.

A COMPANY CALENDAR WHY ? It was decided that all ages could take part in providing pictures for the calendar. It would create a discussion about safety, at home, among family members. The Company could promote SAFETY by publishing the calendar and by recognizing participants.

THE RULES You could enter as many drawings as you wished but would be eligible to only win one prize. All pictures had to be drawn by hand and related to safety on the job or off the job. There were four categories based upon the four seasons plus a grand prize for the cover - a total of 13 prizes. All winners would have their names printed with their drawings.

RESULTS 24 entrants with the range of ages from 19 months to 16 years and one adult entry. Wide range of topics. The winners were quite excited about having their artwork published for all to see. The calendars are posted throughout the plant and in all employees’ homes as well as being given out to customers. They are a superb safety reminder for the entire year.

THE PICTURES Although there were only so many prizes awarded, all entries were winners. Here are a few examples of the winning drawings.

Safety is as simple as ABC – “Always be Careful” (6 yrs)

Stay off the ice on rivers and lakes in winter – (14 yrs)

If you can’t reach, you’ll be beached (10 yrs)

Always wear a hard hat… or in a wheelchair you’ll be sat (13 yrs)

Never play near construction (12 yrs)

Protect your hands. Wear safety gloves (19 months)

Everyone deserves to be safe at work (16 yrs)

Other Calendar Features We included the birthdays of all employees We included the employment anniversaries for all employees. We included all entries to the safety calendar contest on the back pages. We included inspirational quotes for each month.
