Nag-uusap sina Tina (A) at Boyet (B), dalawang magkapatid, kung ano ang isusuot nila para sa isang “Festival of Cultures” sa kanilang iskwela. Tina (A) and Boyet (B), two siblings, are discussing what they will wear to a “Festival of Cultures” at their school.

A. Ano kaya ang isusuot ko sa “Festival of Cultures?” B. Ang dami mong damit, tumingin ka lang sa aparador mo. Basta ako, maong at t-shirt. A. I wonder what I will wear for the “Festival of Cultures?” B. You have so many clothes, just look in your closet. As for myself, just jeans and t-shirt.

This is a “Festival of Cultures.” Do they wear jeans and t-shirts at formal occasions in the Philippines? B. Hmmm, no. What about coat and tie?

A. Hindi. Dapat magsuot ka ng barong tagalog at magandang pantalon A. Hindi. Dapat magsuot ka ng barong tagalog at magandang pantalon. At, puede ba, huwag kang magsuot ng sneakers. Sapatos na may liston, na malinis, ha! B. Kung magba-barong ako, kailangang magsuot din ng camisa de chino. Dapat ba akong mag-medyas? Puede kaya itong sport socks ko? A. No. You should wear barong tagalog and nice pants. And, please, don’t wear sneakers. Wear nice shoes (with shoelaces), and make sure they’re clean! B. If I’ll wear a barong, I also need to wear a camisa de chino (undershirt). Do I need to wear socks? Can I wear these sport socks?
