Emergency Assistance Funds Available and Limitations – Line Item #14, pg. 22 – Added the 2017-18 Emergency Grant Funding distribution amounts, once finalized for 2017-18, will be shared with districts. When a district depletes this Emergency Grant fund to $1,000 a request for additional funds may be made by completing the WTCS Emergency Assistance Grant Funding Additional Request form. A 50 percent match is required. For example, if the state administered funds requested is $50,000, required match is $25,000 for a total project cost of $75,000. Line Item #6, pg. 28 – Clarified multiple positions – Grants will not be awarded to fund more than 50% of a position. The position funded must directly support professional development activities. Professional Development Occupational Competency: Funds Available and Limitations – pg. 28 Occupational Competency funding will be up to 20 percent of the total allocation amount for each district. Projects will be funded up to 50 percent of the total approved cost. A 50 percent match is required. Funds shall only be used to partially pay the salaries and fringe benefits of technical college faculty participating in the program. Funds should be listed under “No. 2 Salary/Fringe” on the grant budget. Must comply with all district policies. Businesses participating in the program shall certify that no current employee of the business will be terminated or laid-off from employment as a result of participation in the program. Grants will be awarded to upgrade the skills and productivity of employees of established businesses operating in Wisconsin, with the additional objective of supporting regional workforce and economic development efforts. Training under these grants must focus on occupational skills but can include a combination of occupational, academic, and employability topics or courses.
