Farmers’ Advocate Office About Us The FAO was established in 1973 by the Minister of Agriculture as a resource for Albertan farmers and ranchers. Participant Funding Program Funding is necessary for landowners during negotiations, not only during the hearing process: Advisors/Lawyers/Consultants Create a less intimidating process to submit an application for funding Clarity and consistency on intervenor status Adequate funding to complete all necessary work Farmers’ Advocate Office

Farmers’ Advocate Office Public Participation Broaden the scope of who can participate in NEB hearings (Standing); directly affected by a proposed project or have relevant experience Offer sufficient participant funding to be effective Consider the approach of a lifecycle regulator and continue consultation past project approval Create “Consultation Best Practices” for all stages of the project Farmers’ Advocate Office
