Warming up “Manners make the man.” 观其待人而知其人!/举止见人品!

It is bad manners to ask about woman’s age. Are they good manners? It is bad manners to ask about woman’s age.

It is good manners to help the older people.

It is bad manners to pick up the flowers.

It is good manners to offer your seat to the older people.

It is bad manners to spit in public.

Be a good host Good manners are very important in the communication in daily life. Everyone likes a person with good manners. Li Ming's Australian pen pal is going to visit him, how can he be a good host? Can you give some advice?

Good manners Work in groups to talk about the tips for being a polite host. Share your ideas with your classmates. Li Ming turns to Mr. Manners for help. How many tips does he get from Mr. Manners?

Competition! Here are the tips from Mr. Manners. Can you help Li Ming make them in order so that he can be a good host? Work in groups. The fastest group will win.

Be a good host What should he do? What shouldn't he do? Read the left part in Lesson 47 and fill in the form. What should he do? What shouldn't he do? 1. Tidy up his house before his guest arrives. 2. Open the door for his guest and hang up his coat. 3. Offer his guest something to drink or eat. 4. Make him feel at home and talk to him. 1. Don't ask the guest to go to the kitchen and serve himself. 2. Don't turn on the television.

Be a good guest Dong Fang is going to visit a Russian house. What should she do to be a polite guest? Listen to Mr. Manners' tips for her and anwser the questions. 1. What gift can she bring? 2. What should she do after her visit?
