Gradebook 1 FEEDBACK

Before we start Please can you fill our the Gradebook 1 section of your Planner Type of question: Tudor essay Topic: HVIII government WWW: EBI:

THE OVERARCHING PROBLEMS Not particularly understanding what to talk about in a government question (as in which bits of the government) Too much focus on key ministers/their reforms (Wolsey and Cromwell) Not enough on Parliament, Local government, Privy Council etc. Not particularly understanding 'fundamentally transformed’ Talking about success/positive impact = not relevant to ‘transformed’ Lack of linking each paragraph back to the concept of ‘fundamentally transformed’

To what extent was England’s government fundamentally transformed in the years 1509-1547 It is a question that covers all of HVIII’s reign It is a question that focuses on consequence (specifically change) It links to key question 2 on the course: In what ways and how effectively was England governed during this period?

Introduction DEFINE What words need defining in this question? CRITERA What would need to happen in order for English government to have fundamentally transformed in the years 1509-1547? JUDGEMENT A) What will you explore in your paragraphs? B) What is your answer to the question?

Main body You need paragraphs that suggest there WAS a revolution in government You also need paragraphs that suggest there WAS not a revolution in government Does this mean looking at ‘continuity’ or ‘what stayed the same’?

POINT What are you discussing in this paragraph. EVIDENCE What SPECIFIC evidence do you have on this topic? EXPLAIN What does your evidence suggest about the differences/similarities between the N/S LINK Does your explanation suggest there were ‘significant differences between the N/S C.1845? Use the information sheet you have been given, and your essay, to re-plan this essay.

CONCLUSIONS REASSERT YOUR JUDGEMENT HOW HAVE YOUR PARAGRAPHS PROVEN THAT YOUR ANSWER IS THE CORRECT ONE?
