ELEVATE HUMANITY THROUGH BUSINESS Conscious Capitalism What’s Next ELEVATE HUMANITY THROUGH BUSINESS

The Evolution of Capitalism The landscape of capitalism and business is shifting. Consumers are demanding more than variety and low prices, they are prioritizing purpose-driven brands and companies in their daily choices. Negative news spreads rapidly over social media, making corporate reputations more fragile than ever Talented employees are looking for more than a steady paycheck, they desire a sense of purpose in their work. Investors are searching for opportunities that create impact and take care of all stakeholders to get ahead of these trends.

The Evolution of Capitalism Conscious Capitalism is a way of thinking about capitalism and business that better reflects where we are in the human journey, the state of our world today, and the innate potential of business to make a positive impact on the world. Conscious businesses are galvanized by higher purposes that serve, align, and integrate the interests of all their major stakeholders.

Conscious Capitalism is Good for the World Greater harmony between employers and employees Improved health and wellness More robust communities A healthier environment Business seen as a force for good!

Conscious Capitalism is Good for the bottom line “FOE” (1681%) Cumulative Returns 1998-2013 S&P 500 (118%) “G2G” (263%) Research by Conscious Capitalism co-founder Dr. Raj Sisodia shows that conscious companies dramatically outperform the competition. Companies that do not embrace this evolution will be left behind. *From his book Firms of Endearment

Making the Case Drawing Media Attention to the Heroic Work of our Community That was Brady’s message Wednesday in Philadelphia, where he spoke at the Conscious Capitalism conference, a gathering of 350 business leaders who believe in elevating humanity through business. “There’s no skills test, no background check, no interview, no reference checks,” Brady said. “People who want jobs put their names on a list. They can have criminal records or be homeless or be among the long-term unemployed, the mentally ill, or the disabled. “You need to show up on time,” he said. “You need to listen to your manager. You need to follow our high standards…It’s not a program,” he said. “It’s a business. I need to get those brownies out of the door, and if you aren’t able to help me to do it, then we’re going to ask you to leave.” MIKE BRADY

“The success stories shared by the speakers and the relationships I developed, left me energized. I was able to bring back fresh ideas that have enabled our organization to make a greater difference in the lives of our stakeholders.” – GREG MASSEY, PRESIDENT & CEO, FIRST UNITED BANK In 2017 Forbes asked, “What can 220 CEO’s learn at a Conscious Capitalism Conference?” “Perhaps valuable insights into the purpose and value of their businesses. Perhaps also, ways to communicate those attributes and, in the process, better defend themselves and their firms from anti-business attacks. CEOs must learn that focusing only on the self-interest benefits they provide too often fails to gain them legitimacy and doesn’t win over the hearts of their customers and employees. CEOs need to become more aware, more conscious, of the moral and economic virtues that capitalism advances spontaneously."
