Performance Task Take Up

Step #1 Pick out the Important Information 20% of each type of book was sold (which is 20% of the total books!!) **means 80% of books remain 2240 books remain!! 2/7 of the books are Science 5/7 of the books are Math

Step #2 How many books at the start? 80% of _______ is 2240 So, there were 2800 books at the start of the week

Step #3 Number of each type of book 2800 ÷ 7 = 400 2/7 of the books were Science 2 * 400 = 800 5/7 of the books were Math 5 * 400 = 2000

Step #4 Conclusion Therefore, the bookshop owner had 800 Science books and 2000 Math books at the start of the week.

General Don’t change to decimals and round … many, many, many did this. 2/7 = 0.28 .. Then you use this … answers are not accurate … get 638 instead of 640. Look at rubric to see what is expected Reflecting Communication
