War at Sea War in The West By Daniel, And Levi

British strength, and American weaknesses The British was a powerhouse of military warfare. They had the strongest navy. They also had a extremely strong soldier force. The American Army/Militia were a group of untrained farmers and workers The only advantage America had was the will to win

The American Navy On October 13, 1775 the Congress authorized the first navy. The United States Navy. Little consideration of naval attacks was taken until congress got news that the british navy was on its way. In November, the Continental Navy was formally organized, and on December 22, Esek Hopkins was appointed the first commander in chief of the Continental Navy. The vessels include 24-gun frigates, 14-gun brigs, and 3 schooners.

War in The West The British forces in the west used the settlement of Detroit as the base to deal with the Native Americans. They encouraged the Native American to attack the Frontier settlements. Problems were especially severe in the Kentucky area, where Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark was assigned. Clark took control of many forts.

War in the west 2. Despite defeat the Loyalists and Native Americans still made many attacks in the west. Inflicting damage on Wyoming and Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia One of the first war ships. Made by Benedict Arnold. One of the first ships named Philadelphia It was found in lake in lake Champlain on August 9, 1935

Other naval weapons The ships had an arsenal of cannons But also cap and ball rifles, and flintlock pistols
