TRX Sales Product Workshop Written by Dom Rzadowski Fitness Trainer

Why are we here today? To gain knowledge on TRX, which can be used whilst touring a prospect the Virgin Active Way To find out the many different benefits of TRX, and how that relates to members goals. To experience using TRX and to be able to explain the results and relate to members goals in simple terms To ask any questions you have on this new innovation.

About TRX suspension training What do you already know about suspension training? Developed by Fitness Anywhere Builds strength, balance, flexibility and core stability TRX® Suspension Trainer™ is a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s bodyweight to enable hundreds of exercises for every fitness goal One or more hands/feet supported by a single anchor point while the opposite end of the body is in contact with the ground You use your body weight as resistance and take advantage of stability to load and unload exercises

What are the benefits of TRX? What benefits are you aware of already?

All levels (older adult, athlete, weekend warrior). It's beginner-friendly: A big benefit of Suspension Training is it's easy to tweak exercises to your own level of difficulty and ramp up when necessary. You determine how hard or how easy you really want to go. So advanced or beginners can work out in the same class and get what's right for them.

All goals (sport performance, weight loss, rehab, daily function) It's for anyone: So, who should do TRX? Everyone, People who like yoga and Pilates tend to like TRX because there are some crossovers. But it's also great for runners, cyclists, or anyone who is an endurance athlete and wants to have more strength training. Even reluctant "power lifters" are usually swayed by the workout once they see how effective it can be at building muscle, he says.

The cardio-strength training connection: The cardio-strength training connection: Don't think it's just your muscles that you're working. TRX moves target different parts of your body while also raising your heart rate. Many exercises done on the TRX suspension trainer "integrate so many muscles, which require oxygen,". This increases your heart rate and breath as you hold a move or do your reps, making many TRX exercises "superefficient, integrated strength and cardio moves,".

It beats boredom It beats boredom: Two suspension straps — infinite ways to use them. You can do it all with TRX, from lunges to planks to upper body resistance exercises. And the best part? Your workouts can change as many times as you want them to. That means that both your mind and your body will stay challenged with all the ways you can mix up your workouts.

The science bit……… There are three ways to progress and regress and exercise Vector Principle Changing your body angle to change intensity Pendulum Principle Changing the start position of the handles/cradles creating a push/pull from the straps Stability Principle Changing your foot stance to change intensity Now try these with your fitness manager before your TRX class….

Practical Experience Lets do it! A member of your fitness team will now take you through a fast class for 15 minutes! During this put yourself in a member’s shoes…. What can they expect to achieve when they use it? Lets do it!

Helping members achieve their goals Now you have experienced a Suspension Training fast class….. Individual task In your own words write down a description for each of the benefits we have just spoken about You have 10 minutes

Helping members achieve their goals Exercise In small groups try to describe how suspension training will benefit members with the following goals: Weight loss Get fit Elderly and want to stay active Sports specific training Get bigger/stronger You have 15 minutes Now partner up, person A will be the MC, person B will be a member with a goal from the above list. Take them on a tour and practice what you will say to them using your new knowledge. Then swap roles and repeat using the another goal.

And Finally…. Members can learn how to use TRX by the following ways: Fast Classes – we will have a variety of different classes to offer giving members many opportunities to try different exercises and have some fun. This is the best way a member can learn TRX Quick Start / Personal Training sessions Interaction with our Fitness Coaches on the gym floor
