Mark 9: 14-29

The Parable of the Lost Son

Luke 15:11-32 The story we just told you is a modern version of a parable Jesus told. In this Parable, the youngest son got his inheritance from his father and he spent it all. He then realized that he should return home after wanting to eat the food the pigs ate. When he returned home, his father ran out and hugged him, gave him a ring and sandals, and threw the lost son a feast with a fattened calf to eat.

What does this mean? This parable is like our relationship with God. Sometimes we run away from him and get ourselves into trouble. Like the father in the parable, our heavenly father will always welcome us back and will accept us.

Quiz 1. Which Son set off for a distant country? The youngest son 2. What did the father do when the son came home? He hugged him. 3. What did the son want to eat when he had no money? Pig food. 4.
