Every second someone accesses our electronic collections. Every 14 seconds someone visits one of our libraries. Every 21 seconds someone borrows one of our books.

Legal Deposit College Libraries LEGAL DEPOSIT: Bodleian has been a library of Legal Deposit for 400 years One of the 6 Legal Deposit Libraries in the UK Legal Deposit has existed in English law since 1662, and it ensures that the nation’s published output is collected systematically and made available. Means that all UK publishers are legally required to deposit all of their publications in these libraries. Legal Deposit items (books and journals) CANNOT BE BORROWED, but they are available or can be ordered to most of the Bodleian Libraries including the Social Science Library Since 2013 we have been receiving electronic items such as ejournals via Legal Deposit - only available on Bodleian Libraries PCs. COLLEGE LIBRARIES: Each of the Oxford Colleges has its own library – generally for the use of College members only ONE EXCEPTION = Nuffield College Library, which is open to all graduates at the University.

You use it for lots of things, including logging into your University email, accessing library e-resources when you’re outside the University network and to log into SOLO. SOLO – library catalogue, easy to find. Remote Access Account – register for this on the IT Services website, and install software on your device.
