Mexico By: Yailin Gonzalez

Mexico My mom is from Acapulco and my dad is from the capital of Mexico. My sisters and brother were also born in Mexico. This is important to me because my family lives there and have memories of my ancestors and people that died there.

location Mexico is located in under Texas and Arizona. It almost surrounds the golf of Mexico. It borders the north pacific ocean. It also touches south America.

sports The sports that they play in Mexico is only soccer. It’s a popular sport over there. There's a lot of soccer teams and most of them are from Mexico. There's even one called Mexico it’s the picture in right. That the Mexico team.

Major cities Guadalajara is the capital of the Mexican state named Jalisco. Toluca is the capital of Mexico and is the fifth largest city in Mexico. lerma is the city where they fought for there independence and fought another Mexican battle. food Bread of the dead is a sweet bread that they make in the day of the dead. Chile relleno are named right after a city called Puebla in Mexico. Tostadas are made for party's or for celebrations. Also they were served in the vast empires back then. Tacos were first invented by the Europeans and they ate filled them with fish. Now we can fill them with anything we want. celebrations Cinco de mayo is a celebration that they celebrate on may 5. that was the day they won the battle vs. the American civil war and got there freedom and independence. Dia de nuestra senora Guadalupe is a religious holiday that we celebrate of when the virgin appeared in Juan Pablo's blanket. Dia de los muertos is celebrated for people that passed away and they remember them by putting food in front of the picture of the person and make a beautiful celebrations to honor them. climate The climate is usually hot and warm. It never snows over there. During winter it may become a little bit cold but then turns warm. Well sometimes can become freezing with the winds. In higher elevation's like on top of the mountains they may be covered of snow only from the point. It can be 100 degrees in Mexico.

Wildlife The wildlife in Mexico has a lot of different animals because of its hottest and can live in dry places like : Jaguars: they are like cheetahs but instead of running fast it just runs slowly and kills the pray in one bite. Flamingos: they live in colonies and mostly spend there whole time near swamps and lakes. Monkeys: they like to live in warm places. Also they like to spend there time on trees. National symbols the tree guarantees flag of Mexico was made with red,green,and white because the red represents the unions between the Europeans and Americans. Green means the independence in Spain. White means the religion of roman catholic. The national flag of Mexico was also made with red,green,and white because red means religoin.green means hope. White means purity. The coat of arms represents the Aztecs in which they drew a drawing if a eagle with a snake in its beak. This is the symbol and picture for Mexicans today. transportation plane Mexicans use planes to get around sometimes. Also they use planes because they have a bigger territory to fly in. They also use local buses like we do but when the bus is full from the inside they are sometimes hanging outside of the bus and holding themselves or grabbing on something on the outside of the bus. There trains run underground. Lot of people use the underground railroad or train because its easier to get around faster and get to places faster.
