Ági Hello. My name’s Ági and I’m a 10th course student in our grammar school. I really feel good here, love my classmates, we have been getting on well since the first day of my being here. My teachers are also all right. So everything looks smooth or doesn’t……?

I’m planning to change schools next year as I don’t see any chances to achieve my aims here. The most important reason of it is that I can not keep up with the requirements of the school. So you can say I’m not the best student here. I can’t tell you why. I was a very good student in primary school and I learnt in quite a good urban primary but however hard I try to do it, I can’t maintain my results. Even they are getting worse and worse.

The final push for me to give up my plans was the change of state promoted places at universities. I won’t be able to afford to study as a self support student and to pay for my tuition fee. My family won’t be able to finance it. Since my very early years I have been dreaming about being a lawyer but now I had better give my dreams up.

I think it is wise if you always have a second plan. And I have it too I think it is wise if you always have a second plan. And I have it too. As I see it, I should learn a kind of trade so that I could raise some money to support my plans and if I have the starting capital, I can start the university. So I have to delay it for a while.

You know, in Hungary, students also work You know, in Hungary, students also work. They do different part time jobs especially in summer. However this money is not enough for too much. You can just buy some fashionable pieces of clothes, or help your parents to pay for your course books or start the driving course etc. So it’s too little to start anything with it. Maybe If I were a bit older, but now I’m just 16, so I’m underaged so I can only work limited hours and even more I can not work at night or more exactly only the afternoon hours are good for me as in the morning I have to go to school and I can’t miss the lessons.

My parents are worried about me very much and do not want to let me go anywhere.

Of course, I’m very uncertain about my decision Of course, I’m very uncertain about my decision. The school I’m planning to go doesn’t give you GCSE. They just organize courses. I want to be a confectioner. Some friends say I won’t go back to studying at university, if I give up my present school. But I hope I will. Although it will be difficult to do everything on my own. But I can’t do anything else as My parents can’t give me more money.

You know, it is difficult to guess everything alone You know, it is difficult to guess everything alone. I don’t have anybody to discuss these problems. So I do the things which I feel all right, but maybe they are the biggest stupidities in the world. On the other hand, honestly I am very disappointed with my present results too, I just study and study and I get worse and worse marks. I don’t know what I do badly.

I love my parents, my sisters and my home I love my parents, my sisters and my home. I want the same family for me when I grow up. Unfortunately my parents do not have a steady job. My mum was operated last summer and my father has had problems with his legs for a long time so he only does temporary work.

You may say I don’t have an easy life but everybody has problems You may say I don’t have an easy life but everybody has problems. So I am not depressed on the opposite I feel happy with my life. As A lot of people loves me and my family is great.

Everybody knows that I am a Romani but I have never been hurt because of it all my life. At home we don’t live a traditional gipsy life so we live similarly to the others. I and my sisters understand Romani language but do not speak it. My parents sometimes use the language when they speak to each other but they didn’t teach it to us.

You probably know that family is very important for the Romanis You probably know that family is very important for the Romanis. Finding the proper husband is in some cases is still the task of the fathers. Yes, I have heard a lot of stories about it, when a gipsy girl was taken out of school just to make a good marriage. My parents themselves did not follow the traditions and of course they do not want us to do it. My mum was 22 when she got married on her free will and my sister was born after it.

Of course it would be good if I Could go to university as there hasn’t been anybody who could do it in our close and distant family but my greatest desire in my life to have a nice family, to be a happy wife with 3 cute children.
