Social Enterprise in Scotland Currently operating 5,600 Health & Social Care 659 (12%) Share of SE sector income 21.6% Share of SE sector employment 45.5% 76 H&SC new starts in past 2 years Improving health & wellbeing 54% Providing care to adults & older people 12%

Scottish Government commitment “ …ensure that the data from the study can be used more widely to inform the work of those in the social enterprise movement and those committed to supporting it.” (Social Enterprise in Scotland Census 2017) 3A.7. Realising Market Opportunities in Health & Social Care We will work with partners across the strategic commissioning agenda within H&SC to highlight the benefits of social enterprises bring for choice and sustainability in local communities and to realise associated opportunities. (Action Plan 2017-20)
