The Voice in the Wilderness People are coming – the whole countryside and all the people of Jerusalem. John, early megachurch pastor One is coming, I’m not worthy to untie his sandals (v7) Do you take off other people’s shoes? It’s not fun John: I’m not even worthy to touch his dusty, dirty, feet. Not worthy of that priviledge.

The Voice in the Wilderness John – real humility; understands Jesus Jesus will baptize w/ Holy Spirit (v8) The sign of Jesus – Holy Spirit 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.” - Jn 1:33-34 NIV
