Program Overview Ages 5-8 Director: Adam Feuerhelm Mission: To develop players and fuel their passion for the game Philosophy: Safe, Fun, & Learn Basic Skills 5-6 Coach Pitch 7-8 Machine Pitch Team Selection: Friend requests and draft process Equipment: Association provides: Baseballs, tees, and pitching machines You provide: Helmet, glove, and proper footwear Optional: Bat, bag, batting gloves, A.S., protection Uniform: Pants, jerseys, and hats provided by the Association Coaches will distribute uniforms (once teams are formed)

Key Dates Ages 5-8 April 11 –Machine Pitch draft – 6pm Chan Legion April 11 - Coaches meeting April 23  Machine pitch season begins (WP) April 30  Coach pitch season begins (WP) 14 & 15 May: Picture Day June 27 Regular season concludes TBD  End of season tourney – MP only

How do I become a 5-8 coach? Go to CAA Baseball Website: http://chanathleticassociationbaseball.assn.la/ Complete concussion training – every 3 years Required every three years Under “Baseball Info”, Concussion Training Submit volunteer background check Required annually Under “Baseball Info”, Register Online, Coaches, 2018 Coaches Application Register to volunteer as a coach Following steps 2 & 3 Under “Baseball Info”, Register Online - Specify age and level Three Coaches & One Manager per team each receive 8 hours of volunteer credit

If it is not in volunteer spot, then it does not qualify. How do I volunteer? Volunteer deposit $150 volunteer deposit will be collected from every family via check Everyone needs to pay a volunteer deposit to be placed on a team If you have applied as a coach, manager, assistant manager or if you have completed some hours, you still must provide the check for the volunteer fee Checks will be destroyed at end of the season if volunteer hours are completed Coach Pitch 5/6 families are not required to complete volunteer hours or submit a check unless you have a kid in the 7/8 or older program To Sign Up for Volunteer Hours http://chanhassenathleticassociation.org/ Go to Baseball & Softball Click on Volunteer Information Click on Volunteer Opportunities Volunteer expectations 8 hours per family (not per player) Spontaneous help is always welcome, but does not qualify as volunteer hours Volunteer hours are recorded by Volunteer Coordinator or via the CAA website When you apply to become a volunteer, you give our organization the right to conduct necessary background checks To qualify for volunteer hours, the job(s) must be posted on Volunteerspot. If it is not in volunteer spot, then it does not qualify. CHANHASSSEN CHALLENGE HOSTED 1-3 June, 2018 is great opportunity to receive credit!!

How Can I Support The Program? Storm Apparel -- CAA endorsed fundraising program Available through Lakeside Promotions Sweatshirts, shirts, jackets, Easton bat bags (backpack-style and rolling), batting helmets All items will have the Storm logo Lakeside Promotions will be on-site at parent meeting (today) and the following days/times (Pioneer Ridge Middle School): Monday, 12 March: 5-9 pm Tuesday, 13 March: 5-9 pm Wednesday, 21 March: 6-8 pm Show your Storm spirit and help raise money for our programs! The Dugout Club The Dugout Club is a booster club created to support diamond sports within the Chanhassen High School boundaries. The Dugout Club will be selling a limited number of bricks to build the 2018 Stadium Walk at the Chanhassen High School Stadium. Order at dugout-club.org

Team Sponsorships We are seeking TEAM SPONSORSHIPS for Baseball and Softball! $350 per team Provides much needed funds for our program Keeps fees down for participants Field improvements Team sponsorships help CAA Baseball/Softball provide financial scholarships so every kid can play. $24,000 in financial scholarships have been granted since 2014.
