RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and its advantages / scope in BFSI and BPO Services Abstract : Software ‘robot’ is a software application that replicates the actions of a human being interacting with the user interface of a computer system. The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a Framework which is used to configure a software or a “robot” to do work such as data manipulation, Communication with other systems, transaction of money or shares, booking tickets. This white paper gives an overview of RPA, it’s advantages, comparison with traditional automation tools and how to select an RPA automation tool. It also explains the feature of RPA and some recommended tools.

Introduction Introduction: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) : > What is RPA ? Robotic process automation (RPA) is the use of software with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities to handle high-volume, repeatable tasks that previously required a human to perform. Robotic process automation (RPA) is the application of technology that allows employees in a company to configure computer software or a “robot” to capture and interpret existing applications for processing a transaction, manipulating data, triggering responses and communicating with other digital systems.

Current/Futuristic range of Implementations: Process Automation Technologies like presentation-layer automation software – a technology that mimics the steps of a rules-based, non-subjective process without compromising the existing IT architecture – are able to consistently carry out prescribed functions and easily scale up or down to meet demand. Robotic process automation is more than a testing tool. There are various tools available that enables software teams to build and execute automated tests. However, these tools are exclusively designed for testing and nothing else. Robotic process automation (RPA) tools have taken the concept of test automation tool to the next level, allowing people to build complex and rules driven business processes with little software development skills.
