Rockefeller: Businessman who consolidated the Standard Oil Company and made millions by forming a monopoly of the oil industry. 9) Thomas Edison: Famous inventor who patented the incandescent light bulb, film projector, and phonograph along with many other important inventions.

These were usually substandard housing.

Native Americans were forced to become a part of the greater American society.
