Environmental Success Story Leadless Bullets Prem Trehan

Environmental Problem Shooting lead bullets causes air pollution, because of the release of lead from the muzzle causes tiny lead particles to spread into the air This has caused the shutting down of multiple Indoor Gun Ranges Only 10% of the lead that is shot at these ranges is absorbed into a human body, but once in your system, you’ll have a 100% chance of lead poisoning. These bullets only retain about 70%-80% of their original weight which means that a lot of it is not being disposed of correctly.

Now Introducing Leadless bullets These bullets do not release lead into the air, and if they do, they reduce the amount that is released. They also retain 95% of their original weight in most cases. So they can be disposed more fully. Major Brands like Winchester and Remington Produce leadless bullets. These bullets either use leadless powder or are made of a copper alloy.

What a copper bullet consist of

How it affects people -Personally this innovation does not affect me, but as an enthusiast of guns I believe that in the future I could use these bullets instead of leaded bullets for my health and the health of others. - Also, in the world perspective, it makes using firearms in law enforcement less of a hazard, as well as helps improve air quality within gun testing facilities that our armed forces and law enforcement utilize. - These bullets are sometimes less lethal and cost a lot more to sell, so it has a economic impact when being bought.

Implementation Major gun brands use lead bullets like Winchester and Remington. Police in Florida and Seattle are using leadless bullets for environmental reasons. Gov’t groups like ARDEC have developed special slugs that will be implemented once our current supply of bullets run out.
