Impact of the Women’s Junior Faculty Mentoring Program Problem: Recently appointed women faculty face challenges which negatively impact retention & promotion Response: We created a mentoring program to counter these challenges Impact Assessment: We analyzed mentor- mentee paired-data collected by annual survey 2010-2015 Results: 470 responses received from 83 mentees & 91 mentors Top topics discussed: Career development, research and promotion Mentors and mentees reported Conversations were helpful Both benefitted Unexpected outcomes: Grant applications/awards Manuscripts Presentations Professional memberships Take Home→ Findings demonstrate the value in establishing mentoring programs specifically for women faculty Manuscript submitted describing these results *WFSM 7-1-17
