True Story Friday Night Lights is based off a story of the 1988 Permian High School in Odessa, Texas as a Panthers football team as they made a run towards the state championship.

Relatable You feel a real-life connection to the characters. Few characters experience the lost of a loved one, being molested, the thought of not being enough to someone and the pressure of college scouts on the look for the next big thing.

Drama There’s always one or two love triangles, jealousy, betrayal and trust issues lying in between the lives of all the characters.

Counter Argument In my opinion, I think Friday Night Lights is one of the best shows in the mid 2000s and still to this day. Others may disagree for the lack of interest in sports.
