Reading Goals The goal for students in grades K-2 is to read at least 10 books this summer. The goal for students in grades 3-5 is to read at least 5 books this summer. We encourage you to continue to read and record above this goal. Your reward for completing your reading goal is a ticket to one of our Wonder movie and ice cream parties, as well as a fun surprise to recognize what a Rock Star reader you are!

Books can be logged in from the Home screen or the Books tab Books can be logged in from the Home screen or the Books tab. Just write in the name of your book and hit submit!

As you log in books you will get a pop up if you won a prize.

This is what the book log in screen looks like This is what the book log in screen looks like. Here is where you can check the list of books you read this summer

We also have fun challenges for you to complete in addition to reading books!

To log the challenge, simply click on the title and follow the directions. Then click, challenge complete! Directions

A pop-up will appear that lets you know you won a prize. For every challenge you complete, you will get a raffle ticket to use in our book raffle! We have lots of books to give away this summer and you can enter to win at any WHPL library branch

Under the Awards tab, you can see all the awards you have earned If you are in grades K-2 and you see this message, just ignore it & keep reading. If you are in grades 3-5 we would love for you to keep reading and recording also! You can redeem your prizes at any WHPL, just stop by the children’s desk and tell them your name!

This year’s Wandoo has a game element This year’s Wandoo has a game element. As you add books to your list and complete challenges, you will get points to upgrade your avatar. Wandoo will prompt you with instructions. This is completely voluntary, if you don’t want to play with the avatar, just ignore it!

Still not sure how Wandoo works? Try out our test page, here you can practice how to add books and complete “challenges” and try out the game element This does not count and is just for fun You can use the same log in as for Libraries Rock (the official program) https://wandooreader.com/westhartfordlibrary/wandoo- test-page

If you have any questions, please stop by any West Hartford Library’s Children’s Department! You can log in your books one at a time, or all at one at the end of the summer. It can be done from any computer: home, library, on vacation, even on a smartphone Your reading data will be sent directly to your school, so you won’t need to print your logs! We hope that you all have fun with your reading and challenges Check out the library website for fun activities this summer We look forward to seeing you at the library!
